Bob completed a Masters in Integrated Pest Management at Simon Fraser University in the early 1990's, in the lab of John Borden. Focusing on spruce bark beetle pheromone biology and forest ecology he gained extensive experience working with insect pheromones in landscape level field applications. During this time Bob also worked with Phero Tech Inc, conducting a variety of forest health consulting contracts and woodboring beetle management programs at logyards throughout BC and Alberta. The next several years working as a consulting forest entomologist and operations manager of the entomology department at a large silviculture service company in northern BC. In 2000 Bob moved to the University of Iowa as a Research Biologist with Facilities Management. Responsibilities included implementation / development of an area wide control program for subterranean termites based, around the Sentricon Termite Colony Elimination System from Dow Agrosciences. From 2004-2019, Bob worked for Integrated DNA Technologies Inc, as sales manager in western Canada and as national sales manager for Canada.
