Previous research indicates that the addition of organic chicken manure to fruit waste can impact spotted-wing drosophila Drosophila suzukii (Matsumura) reproduction. One of the possible mechanisms which affect SWD reproduction is the addition of Nitrogen to lay material. Based on this possibility, five different Nitrogen based fertilizers were added to fruit waste and tested for their efficacy in reducing SWD offspring.
